Queens University, Kingston, ONQueens is a good example of a rain screen installation. The substructure was installed onto the blue skin membrane and consisted of aluminum brackets and hat channels. The panels were riveted onto vertical and horizontal components. Special extrusions were installed for accenting. The interior used the same material as the exterior creating a unified décor theme throughout the building. Special ceiling extrusions were installed. We use aluminum for the substructure because it can last as long as the cladding material unlike galvanized or steel. General Contractor: PCL Architect: B+H |
